Long-range Forecast for every month of 2008
April looks set to start cold with some wintry weather giving snow showers accumulating in more hilly areas. But the second half of the month will have some warm days perhaps even topping a summerlike 27C leading to a rapid increase of soil temperature values. Rainfall everywhere should be on the low side with sunshine totals highest in the west of Britain and in Northern Ireland.
May could start dry and warm but overall low pressure will predominate and there will be frequent showers with quite a few thunderstorms giving some heavy falls of rain in places and most areas will turn out wetter than normal. It will be rather warm and humid at times with the mercury climbing to 25C on some days but generally less sunshine than normal especially from the Midlands northwards. In June the best place to go on holiday will be Scotland especially in more northern parts. Rainfall could be above average again across England with some heavy thundery falls in places. The south west of Britain may be another district that avoids the rain and has more sunshine than average. For July and the rest of the year contact Ian Currie to obtain details.
